About Qhama Africa and Our Journey
Washfiri Africa (Pty) Ltd (T/A Qhama Africa) is a creative cultural enterprise founded in 2013 and based in South Africa. For over two decades, we have been changing society through the power of the arts — inspiring, educating, and connecting communities.
Though our roots are in the vibrant township of Kwazakhele, Gqeberha, our reach extends far beyond. We produce and deliver cultural events, stage performances, community-based projects, and training programs with excellence. Our unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity has enabled us to build a strong international footprint, representing African culture with pride on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Our Founder
At the heart of Qhama Africa is Mninawa Mangweni, an internationally renowned dancer, choreographer, and cultural producer. With more than 20 years of experience shaping the performing arts scene both in South Africa and abroad, Mninawa is celebrated for his innovative choreography and his dedication to promoting African culture on the global stage.
Born and raised in Kwazakhele, Gqeberha, Mninawa has been a driving force behind numerous acclaimed cultural productions. His vision has earned recognition in countries as diverse as Tunisia, Belgium, Germany, Canada, Scotland, Switzerland, Italy, and France — making him not only a proud ambassador of South African arts but also a bridge between cultures around the world.
